The Minister of State for Media Affairs, Amjad Adaileh, has confirmed that the government will keep imposing comprehensive curfew every weekend and a partial curfew during the week.

During a press briefing at the Prime Ministry building, Adaileh said, "since the beginning of the spread of the global epidemic of coronavirus and under the directives of his Majesty King Abdullah II, the government has rushed to take decisions and actions that have led to tangible positive results, especially in terms of controlling the epidemic and curbing the spread of infection.

Adaileh added, "Today, we all ask a central question: Is the danger still there? Yes, the danger is still there and real because the epidemic is still spreading globally and in light of the return of many sectors to work, the return of the epidemic is serious."

He stressed that the government is working hard to facilitate and accelerate the return the work of the largest possible number of economic sectors in a deliberate and scheduled manner.

"The government is keen on learning from other countries that have reopened their economies, taking lessons from both their success and mistakes," the Minister added.

He confirmed that the government is confident in its ability to set a Jordanian example in resuming activity and in economic recovery.

However, caution is due, since some of the returning Jordanian students are expected to be infected with the virus, he said, adding that Jordanian expatriates whose employment contracts have ended are expected to return from countries where the pandemic is widely spread.
